Gas Safe inspections and maintenance can only be performed by qualified and registered Gas Safe engineers who work as sole traders or for a company. Owners are required to ensure that:
Gas accessories, gas appliances and smoke ducts are kept in safe conditions of use and are serviced according to the manufacturer's instructions or the 12 monthly intervals recommended.

Keep a record of gas safety inspections until 2 other inspections have been performed.
Issue a copy of the last gas safety inspection to tenants within 28 days of the inspection.
During the Gas Safe inspection, the engineer will complete a series of tests. This will include:

Upon completion of a satisfactory gas safety inspection and any necessary repairs, a Gas Safety Certificate will be issued.
