Gas Safety Certificate

Here is the beautiful month of May… and the time of great spring work! Whether you plan to equip your house with a new boiler or change your water heater, working on a gas installation requires scrupulous compliance with the standards in force. At the end of the work, the certificate of gas conformity attests to this.
Natural Gas, A Good Solution

For heating, domestic hot water and cooking, natural gas is an excellent solution, with good performance and a very competitive cost. But to fully and safely enjoy the comfort of gas, you must follow the rules. At the end of the intervention on the interior devices, a certificate of conformity attests to the proper execution of the works. This document is issued by the installer and is responsible for any incident. The certificate of conformity is also required by the network operator for the putting into service (or putting back into service) of the gas.
Two Types Of Documents
Two types of certificates of conformity concern individuals, depending on the nature of the work undertaken.
- If you are planning a new natural gas installation or the modification of an existing appliance, you will need to supply model 2,
- If you replace your boiler, it will be model 4.
Models 1 and 3 concern gas installations in collective dwellings. Note that in addition to the modifications and additional installations carried out on the initiative of the gas distributor, certain operations do not require a certificate of conformity, such as replacing the burner and the flue of a gas boiler, moving an appliance control tap (RCA) or change the hob.
The Audit, Not Systematic
It is the professional who performs the work who is responsible for establishing the certificate of conformity. The document is then validated by an inspection body approved by the public authorities. If several installers are involved, each of them must complete a form for the part they have completed.
Upon receipt of the document, the inspection body goes to the individual's home to verify the absence of anomalies in the installation. However, if you call on a company qualified as "Professional Gas", this visit will probably not take place because it is then not compulsory.
Choose a "Gas Professional"
Creating or modifying a gas installation is a delicate operation and it is often more advantageous to call on approved professionals. Indeed, they will take care of the stages from A to Z and will obtain a certificate of conformity at a lower cost. But you can also order the necessary forms yourself and online from the three approved organizations: Qualigaz, Dekra and Copraudit.
Note also that it is essential to use a professional RGE to benefit from eco-conditioned aid such as the tax credit (CITE), the eco-PTZ or even Prim'Eni in the case of installation of a '' high efficiency boiler. For more info click here
