What is an EICR?
We can appreciate that for the most part we are preaching to the choir well versed here, but for those who need to review their knowledge, an EICR is an electrical installation certificate report (sometimes also called an ECR or electrical condition report))
This is an electrical safety inspection that must be performed every three to five years. It means that you can be absolutely sure that all electrical installations (and specifically wiring and electrical elements) in the property in question are up to par.
The EICR reports are a visual condition record or may be in the form of a periodic inspection report. We always recommend the inspection report route, as the test process is a much more accurate and safe way to discover possible future problems. Visual condition registration can only occur if the installation in question has been recently tested.
Once a certified electrician (like us) considers it safe, a certificate will be issued that can act as absolute proof of the quality and condition of the appliances and facilities in question.
The result is not a simple pass or failure, but an accurate and informative record of all your electrical equipment and circuits, especially in terms of whether they are overloaded and represent a potential fire or safety hazard.
The report will help identify any faulty electrical installation, but it will also highlight any lack of connection or grounding in the building. A circuit schedule can also be produced after the report is produced, so if necessary, just ask.
How to obtain an EICR
EICR and ECR can be issued by certified electricians. Once contacted, we will work with owners, contractors, construction and electrical companies, and with all types of lessor and intermediate electrical wholesaler, to test all electronic devices and installations in their commercial or domestic properties.
The longer a property has not had an EICR, the longer the test process will take.
As a guide, a property with a pool will need an EICR every year, and all changes in the use of the properties also require one.
In short, if you want or need proof that the electrical systems you own are safe, you need a certified

electrician like us and you need an EICR.
